Government

Our collaboration and work with the Department of Fire and Emergency (DFES) consists of a variety of uses and scale. A government body’s purpose such as DFES is to assist the public in a variety of areas whether to keep the public safe, helping West Australian volunteers in their brigades and stations; all the way to helping, educating and informing the local community about bushfires, storms and natural forces that impact Western Australia.

We have assisted DFES in producing the content that they use to enable the purposes above. Some of the types of video and photography products we’ve delivered are:

  • Social media posts - where we have produced video and photo content informing the public about courageous acts of volunteers, DFES’ capabilities in responding to emergencies and natural disasters and occasionally the announcement of new vehicle deliveries and new buildings such as the Bushfire Centre of Excellence.

  • Internal educational and instructional videos - these consist of producing imagery and video pertaining to educating volunteers and career personnel about new tools and equipment used for training; new training techniques as well as a showcase of new vehicles announced such as new fire trucks and water vessels.

  • External facing advertising campaigns - In the case that advertising or broadcasting is required for a specific marketing purpose, we have produced video and photo content used in marketing campaigns for both localized or State-wide delivery.

  • Awards Evening videos - One of the projects worth highlighting is the West Australian Fire and Emergency Services Awards Night. This is one of our larger projects that we will do in a calendar year where we produce videos for an awards evening celebrating and recognizing the talented volunteers and career personnel around Western Australia.

Working together with a government body is rewarding and highly educational, we learn a lot and we continue to learn.

Project Highlight:

2021 WAFES Awards

  • Produce highlight video packages and take photographs of the 2021 WAFES Award finalists to be used at the 2021 WAFES Awards Gala Dinner and for promotional purposes. Production to include 42 total full completed video and photography packages.

  • Being one of the larger projects we undertake a year, this project was something we really put the whole team onto. We had a total of 7 teams go all around Western Australia to capture photo and video of the volunteers. Over 2500km of distance was covered by land and air to make this project happen.

The project was completed in two months including editing and the review process.

  • Delivery was handled via a cloud based storage system where our client was able to access the videos and add review commentary. Final delivery of images and video was made through our Frame.io platform as well OneDrive, a staple in the workflow.

Volunteers in Western Australia do incredible work.

This was the best opportunity for us to witness how volunteers across the state worked together to keep West Australia safe.

It was an amazing journey.

Getting the opportunity to tell the stories of these amazing volunteers really made us appreciate the hard work done by our Emergency Services all across Western Australia.

Project Highlight:

Digital Advertising Campaigns

  • Digital advertising is a large part of any big corporation, these digital advertising campaigns are used to reach a large audience in the hopes of informing, educating or showcasing new products. Our examples are varied in purposes so have a look below!

  • Having developed relationships with volunteers along the way helped us in collaborating and producing work. These amazing relationships we built allows us to instill confidence in our talent and really let their own personalities shine. It helps us when we produce work because it allows us to delivery great imagery and video whilst keeping our talent as comfortable as possible. It produces great results!

  • Delivery is always via a cloud based system. Photos are delivered via a digital album or cloud storage and Video is sent for review via Frame.io and OneDrive. Backups are always kept.

Volunteering Recruitment Campaign

Most of Western Australia’s firefighters, State Emergency Service and Marine Rescue personnel are volunteers. In some instances some locations may require that extra push via digital marketing to increase the number of volunteers in certain locations. Having volunteers join a local brigade helps these brigades better help their local communities.

Our position for this project was to provide professional photography to be used in the stills imaging campaign. Many aspects of the photos are used in other cases such as website and documentation.

Our capturing process included an initial location scout to determine where our images will best be taken. Photography for this was a full day of production following a video team, photos were then selected, edited and the best were delivered for distribution. Some of our favourites are shown here.

Midwest Storm Safety Campaign

Severe Tropical Cyclone Seroja impacted the Mid-West of Western Australia an in event the area had not experience in the last 20 years. Homes and the lives of people were impacted in ways unimaginable. The purpose of this project was to inform the people of the Mid-West about actions they can take for storm safety.

This digital campaign was primarily for social media distribution inclusive of Facebook and YouTube advertising delivery. Our focus for this project was video with a small selection of photos used for digital communication documentation. This project required 6, 15 and 30 second versions to be produced to give the ultimate flexibility when used.

In order to fulfill our project brief, talent was selected across the Mid-West region and arrangements were made to travel to the Mid-West, specifically Kalbarri. Some beautiful Mid West locations were chosen.

A visual message

We really wanted to make sure our visual image that was presented was the best of our abilities. Paying particular attention to lighting, sound editing and solid camera work, this is what we delivered:

Project Highlight:

New Vehicle Walkarounds

  • Vehicle walkarounds are produce to showcase the new options and equipment available on a new appliance or vehicle, this video content is primarily used internally to give to volunteers however, on occasion, can be used to showcase new vehicles to the public via a social media post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

  • Upon request, we will dispatch a videographer to film these vehicle walkarounds. Whilst many are completed within DFES facilities, sometimes on location shoots can be expected. Appropriate locations are chosen where a talking head is filmed and then the walkaround.

  • Video is sent for review via Frame.io and OneDrive. Backups are always kept.

Better vehicles, fit for purpose.

Our recent project with DFES was to produce a walk around video for four different vehicles being released to volunteers across the state. Here is the video we produced.
